FLOOD RELIEF FUNDRAISER
Join hands across continents as ‘aUStralia with sLOVEnia’ unites hearts for a common cause, helping people and communities rebuild after the devastating floods in Slovenia.
Funds collected will be equally distributed to Rotary Slovenia, Caritas Slovenia (Slovenska Karitas), and Red Cross Slovenia for support to the most vulnerable areas.
You too can turn empathy into action and make waves of positive change that ripple from far beyond.

Launched 3/9/2023
We today launched the Australia wide fund raising campaign to raise funds for the Slovenian Flood Victims. Our target was to have this up and running by Sunday 3 Sept 2023, Father’s Day, the end date is 8/10/2023.
To create an across Australia wide fund raising campaign that was fully accountable, we have chosen the 'MyCause' fund raising platform. We can update information as we go, including the 'About' post and 'Supporter' organisations'. This campaign has been organised by the NSW Slovenian Community with support from the Embassy, all Honorary Consuls, the Slovenian missions/churches, clubs, associations etc. Full details are below. The principal organisers have been Walter Suber, Mateya Slobodnik and myself, with input from Tania Smrdel, Branko Fabjancic, Peter Krope, Father Darko, Olga Lah.
You will tomorrow receive an Email with details and a ‘Donate’ link button. When received, it would be great if you could distribute to your database, the more funds raised, the more we can help affected people in Slovenia. When you click the ‘DONATE’ button you go to the ‘MyCause’ donation page so you can view the campaign. There is an option then to donate, and also to share this campaign to your members/friends via your personal or groups Facebook page.
DETAILS - "aUStralia with sLOVEnia" Flood Relief Fundraiser
Fund raising platform: ‘MyCause’, allows payments by Credit Card, Apply Pay
Target: $150,000.
Start Date: 3/9/2023
Campaign Length: The campaign will run for 5 weeks (the minimum period on the MyCause platform, end Date then 8/10/2023
Clubs, Community Groups, Church can hold their own fund raising and deposit the money direct into the MyCause fund raiser if they wish.
Beneficiaries of the Funds: The funds raised will be equally distributed to Rotary Slovenia, Caritas Slovenia, and Red Cross Slovenia
Distribution of Funds: At the end of the fund raising campaign, the funds will be transferred from ‘MyCause’ to the bank account of Slovenian Australian Chamber of Commerce, and from that bank account to the charities in Slovenia.
Transparency: We will provide total transparency of the funds raised and how they are sent, including providing statements we can obtain from MyCause and Slovenian Australian Chamber of Commerce.
