Irena Jernej iz Brisbana

koncert Brisbane 2012
Recitirala bom dve pesmi “Daleč si, Koroška moja” in “ Cranky old Man”

The co-ordinator of this year’s concert Mrs Irena Jernej will perform next.  But before she performs, we wish to thank her for all her hard work and efforts in organising the concert this year. Thank you Irena! Mrs Jernej comes from the Koroška region and describes the region as heavenly with picturesque mountains and valleys where friendly people live.  In her heart she will always be a true Koroška girl.  Irena is also known by her friends as the ‘Lady of Ljubljana’. This is because of her dress style. Irena says that her inspiration was her aunt in Ljubljana; as a ten year old child she wanted to be dressed like her in high heels and hats; women where she lived never dressed this way –Irena had the courage to do this so bought ‘style’ to the village she lived in! Irena has been on the catwalk, performed on stage, is a successful alpinist, mountain climber and has been involved in extreme sports. She has also travelled around Europe on many modes of transport.Irena’s other hobbies include cooking and gardening. She is also a proud grandmother of three grandchildren with another one on the way. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren by taking them to the  cinemas and the park.
